Lawyer Maggie Samson

Maggie was born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. She has always felt a strong connection to Cape Breton, as her grandparents have roots in Bras D’Or and she has always enjoyed visiting the Island.

Maggie graduated with a Bachelor of Public Relations (Co-operative Education Route) with distinction in 2017, from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax. She obtained a Juris Doctor in May of 2020 from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University.

During her time at law school, Maggie was on the executive of the Weldon Literary Moot Court Society, a group that puts on a mock trial based on literary works in order to raise money for the Halifax Humanities organization. She also completed an internship placement with the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal.

Maggie completed a summer placement at EMM Law between her second and third years of law school and returned to EMM in 2020 to complete her articles. She became an associate with the firm in June of 2021.

Outside of work, Maggie enjoys spending time with her friends and family, particularly her many nieces and nephews. She enjoys curling, paddling, playing trivia, reading and boating.

Maggie currently lives in D’Escousse with her husband Joël.
